STALLIONS AT STUD
Our magnificent roster of stallions are the figurehead and pride of the stud. Belmont House Stud offers our valued customers a carefully selected collection of exceptional modern sires, some of which are home bred. Belmont House Stud believe in their stallions and that belief is reflected in their use of them on all of their own treasured broodmares.
Committed to offering honest and experienced breeding advice, we look forward to discussing the requirements for your mares to help you make the best possible choices for breeding future champions!
Last year Belmont House Stud and its horses, particularly the stallions, had an amazing season during which many of our goals and dreams came true. It was a great achievement and the success of our horses speaks for itself proving that here at Belmont, we offer stallions not only with top genetics, but stallions and their progeny who are successful at major competitions.
We are very proud to have four stallions here at the stud for the season, three of them having successfully competed in CSIO/CSI5* at 1.60m level.
In July 2020 the famous Holstein stallion Livello arrived here at Belmont House Stud. Livello needs no introduction having already proven himself as a jumper. He is also a sire of top performers, amongst them exceptional progeny out of Irish mares. We feel privileged to have him standing here.
Qui Vive des Songes Z is the latest addition to our farm. The scopey Zangersheide stallion arrived directly from Wellington USA and is now fully approved by HSI. This beautiful blood stallion was successful at CSIO4*/CSI5* and represented USA at Nations Cups as well as World Cup qualifiers. His willingness to perform, his competitive performance and his outstanding ability, along with an exciting pedigree, make him an interesting choice for breeders.
During 2020 our homebred Mr Quincy B has had consistent results in young horse classes in Ireland and also successfully jumped at six International CSIYH competitions in Belgium during the winter of 2020/2021. Mr Quincy B's foals seem to have inherited their sires balanced, powerful and uphill canter and look like talented future sport horses.
Meanwhile Mr Quincy's full brother Mr Lincoln B was sold to Studfarm Zangersheide and is now ridden by top international rider Christian Ahlmann. At Belmont House Stud we always believed in the quality of Mr Lincoln B and are very proud to have bred possibly the first ‘Irish’ stallion ever to stand at the prestigious Z farm! We are looking forward to following Mr Lincoln B's progress, already successful at CSIYH.
In 2020 we got the unique opportunity to stand Stockholm van’t Roosakker Z here at Belmont House Stud. Approved at Zangersheide, this now five-year-old stallion has a top pedigree and is showing plenty of ability in CSIYH classes. Stockholm van't Roosakker Z is bred by Marc Kluskens and Luc Henry and hails from one of Belgium's top damlines, the line of Glocks London, Golden Hawk and many more successful 1.60m jumpers.
Our homebred Celtic Hero B Z is consistently jumping clear rounds at 1.40m levels in the USA ridden by Heather Caristo-Williams and putting a smile on peoples’ faces with his extraordinary technique. The same attitude and technique can be seen in Celtic Hero B Z's offspring. They all have a super temperament, are easy to work with and are extremely careful with quick reflexes and a fantastic technique. In 2019, from Celtic Hero B Z's first crop of three-year-olds, two fillies (out of ten qualified) made it to the finals of the RDS. This year Celtic Hero B Z will be available by frozen semen.
After leaving Ireland, Ganesh Hero Z went to Belgium where he was carefully produced and subsequently sold to the H5 Stables, Mexico. Ganesh Hero Z is showing a lot of promise in international young horse classes and looks to have a bright future ahead. His oldest offspring are now three years old and are similar in type, possess a powerful canter, they are modern blood horses. Mr Connery B, a very exciting three-year-old colt by Ganesh Hero Z will possibly be available at stud in the second part of the breeding season.
Last but not least, our oldie Stetter had a great season and from a small crop his progeny had great success in young horse classes in Ireland, Switzerland and USA. As a gesture to breeders that suffer the effects of Covid and still want to use an international proven stallion, we give them the unique opportunity to avail of his semen at a very reduced rate of 600 euros or 500 for multiple mares. We believe that Stetter is very underrated and can assure you that you won’t be disappointed!
“Belmont House Stud offers a fantastic service including access to excellent semen quality and progressive genetics. For me it’s a big plus to be able to see the stallions compete on the national circuit.”
